Setting around thinking about how to move both forward and backwards in the family tree. It appears the best method would be to divide and conquor. Since our family falls in the Peter Langhofer line, I wll head up that branch. I would like to have two other volunteers, one in the Fredrick Langhofer line, and one in the David Langhofer line, to act as a point of contact, for updating the GEDCOM database. You will recieve assistance from me in setting up the software, and learning how to add information. You would be the point of contact for all matters in that branch. In addition, we need to add a topic, for notices of deaths in the family, births, and a memorial information. Hope to have that done soon.

Just a short note to let you know, we are populating the Web Links section of the site, with links to Longhofer / Langhofer history on the web. If you find a site with revelent information, please feel free to login, and then you can add links yourself! In addition, we are going to host a copy of a document prepared by Eugene Jenkins, with the permissons intact in the file. It is a copy of research he did from microfish, it is a 1920 Census that is provided in whole, for the Dickinson County, Kansas. Also information from many other sources for your research.

Since being back in the mood to do some more research, we ran across the Bickford Cemetery in Ellis County Kanas. Also some listings in the Lutheran Cemetery in Ellis County too! I have requested additional information on the Longhofer's buried there, this might be some help in filling in the blank lines. Upade: Donna, who is maintaining the Luthern Data above, was nice enough to send a listing from her database. Included was some articles about Jonas Longhofer being killed. Interesting read from 1944. Click on the Title above to see the rest of the story.

With a new year upon us, we will try and get some updating done on the family history. We now have the latest gedcom data available in the download area. It requires Personal Ancestory File which is a free download. Just follow the link above, and click on the Order Download Product link. Then in the Download section of our site, you will find the current file. Install the PAF5, then unzip the file you download from our site, and you will be able to open it and edit it yourself. If you are able to do this for your section of the family, you can then send that file back to us, where we can combine all the information, and regenerate the web pages for the Family Index. It has been nice, in the last week Michael Longhofer dropped us a note, that he lives in the Dallas area, and is an acomplished artist. We have added a link in the Web Link section to his website for future reference. He has some amazing oil paintings!
Yesterday, Peter Langhofer, who lives in Austria, introduced himself, and is hopefully going to be able to help a bit from europe. Today, we are adding a block, on the left, that will allow you to translate the page text into different languages, which is fun to look at, and very functional for German too!

I am in the process of upgrading the web site to the newest release of the PostNuke software. There are more themes and features. So feel free to poke around. If you experience any problems let me know. (Like logging in)
With this new release it was not compatible with
the old photo album, and I will be re-doing the family history, and Genology Section, so please come back, there will be more than before!
Regards,
Rod
